Undergraduate Research Conference

The Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) held in conjunction with the 10th Singapore Conference on Applied Psychology (SCAP2026) will take place on 8 December 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium.

Overview:
We invite undergraduate students to participate in the URC, which will run in parallel with the SCAP Conference. Students will have the opportunity to present their Psychology research through poster presentations at the conference.

Poster Presentation:
Your poster will be displayed in a designated area, and you will answer questions about your research during networking breaks.
Poster presentation guidelines:
• Posters must be A0 size (841mm wide x 1189mm high) or smaller.
What makes a good poster?
• Important information should be readable from about 2 metres away
• Title should be short, comprehensible and draws interest
• Word count of about 300 to 800 words
• Use of bullets, numbering, and headlines make it easy to read
• Effective use of graphics, colour and fonts
• Includes acknowledgments, your name and institutional affiliation

In addition to attending keynote presentations and presenting their posters, students can look forward to a series of planned activities. These may include career talks, as well as sessions on presentation and research skills. The detailed programme will be sent to all conference delegates closer to the conference dates.

Abstract Submission Requirements:
All abstracts must be reviewed and approved by the URC Committee. Submit your abstract before the ‘Abstract Submission Deadline’. Results will be announced by the ‘Author Notification Date’.

Abstracts should adhere to the following guidelines:

Title: 15 words or fewer
Length: Maximum of 400 words
Authors: Include the first and last name of each contributing author
Institution(s)/Academic Affiliations: Provide the institution(s) of all authors

Structure of Abstract:

Background: State the primary objective of the study
Methods:
Quantitative studies: Include design, participants, measures, and analysis
Qualitative studies: Include design, participants, methods of data collection, and analysis
All study types (experimental, observational, reviews, etc.) must include results to support the conclusions
Findings: Summarise the results and/or main findings
Discussion: Provide a clear conclusion to the research

Note: Do not include references at the end of your abstract.

The Conference Committee will review all abstracts and support researchers by providing edits and recommendations. This ensures that all published abstracts meet a high standard of quality.
